 The Sounds and Symbols chart contains all the sounds in the English language.  This comprises about 85% of our words, the other 15% are made up of "red words" (words that are exceptions to the rule).  Below, you will find a blank 3rd-6th grade Sounds and Symbols chart and a completed one.  These are the sounds we expect the students to know by the end of third grade.  Periodically, have your child fill out what they can remember on their SS chart.  Then help them to fill in the parts that they do not remember.
